Zoning Board of Appeals

The Zoning Board of Appeals must hear and decide appeals from any order, requirement, decision or determination made by any administrative official charged with zoning ordinance enforcement. It also hears and decides matters referred to it in the Township Zoning Ordinance and may grant non-use (dimensional) variances if practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship would result in conforming with the ordinance. The ZBA cannot hear appeals made pertaining to the Site Plan Review, Planned Unit Development, Site Condominium or Special Land Use decisions. The Board consists of one (1) Planning Commissioner and two (2) residents, with one (1) alternate member to serve in the event of a conflict of interest or absence.

The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) does not have a regular meeting schedule. Hearings are scheduled as needed, according to the laws governing proper notification and posting.

TOWNSHIP OF GANGES ALLEGAN COUNTY, MICHIGAN NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Ganges Township Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing and regular meeting concerning variance request applications on Tuesday August 30, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ganges Township Hall, 1904 64th Street, Fennville. Please take further notice that the matters to be considered at the public hearing include the following: Mandi Brower of Zeeland MI has petitioned for setbacks variances at 6023 122nd Ave 0307-012-003-00 to lift, move and remodel home. 1. front setback required 30 feet; request 25ft of relief (to be 5ft from property line); 2. waterfront setback required 40ft; request 26.5ft relief (to be 13.5 from water edge); 3. south side setback required 15ft; request 8.3ft of relief (to be 6.7ft from property line); 4. north side setback required 15ft; request 6.2ft of relief (to be 8.8ft from property line) June Nye of Fennville MI has petitioned for a lot width variance at 1725 65th St 0307-022-004-00. Required lot width 250 ft; request is 51ft of relief (199ft). David Collins Trust has petitioned for setback variances at 1808 N Morning Glory Dr 0307-320-021-00 to demo and rebuild a home. Required side setback 15 ft; request is 5ft of relief on north and south lines (to be 10ft on each side) Written correspondence may be submitted to the Clerk at 1904 64th Street, Fennville, MI 49408 up to the date of the hearing and may also be submitted at the hearing.
